Kidney beans let to marinate in water (submerged) for 3 days. This "bean juice" was used to wet the paper towel to germinate. Results to follow. No action after 24 hrs.
Seeds germinated on March 13. Moved to jiffy pots. March 15, Moved to 4" pots - roots were poking out of the jiffy pots sooner than expected. Misted soil with 1ml/L of AN Sensi Grow.
March 18, 2nd set just (barely) starting
March 24, alternating water and nutrients (1ml/L Sensi grow, 0.5ml/L B-52, 0.5ml/L CalMag). Northern Lights is showing branching sites at 12 days - Both bubblegum and NL are vigorous.
March 29, getting ready to transplant in 5gal pots. Mars Hydro TS 600 is on the way, cool mist humidifier too - currently using hot mist. Raising temps too much.
April 4th - It seems like the Northern Lights does not take well to over watering. It's been 5 days and she's still looking sad, but keeping up with the bubble gum.
Pink berry remains tiny. I've added a Mars Hydro ts 600 and an ultra sonic humidifier. All were topped on April 2nd.
Apr 6 - I'm adjusting ph on watering days - was using straight rain water, but it's ph is too high ~7.0. LST Northern Lights, reacted really well to it. Adjusted 04/07. Pink berry really kicking it up - 9 hrs into lights on, big difference from lights on. Bubblegum is a real beast. Just takes my mistakes.
Apr 10 - Between apr 8 and 10th, there was a big boost in growth. Well ph'd water goes a long way. Pink berry is a beast, bubblegum phenomenal looking. Northern Lights doing good - you can tell I fucked it up in comparison.
Adding week 4, as I had it in "germination" in the diary a week too long. Brings it in line with it's size/maturity. Messed up my lighting for 48ish hours, left on 24hrs a day, due to flip flopping on going to flower.
04/20 - as it's my first grow in this tent, and it's 4/20 I figured I'd flip to not get over grown. PPM out was a little high last feeding, next watering will be heavier to rinse out.
04/28 - Seeing a nice amount of stretch, don't think i'll have a problem with height, but they're bushy. Waiting another week to see what I'll prune off before bud starts stacking.
05/04 - defoliated some and removed a dozen or so sucker branches. Upped nutrients to manufacturer's recommendation, plants don't seem to show nutrient burns yet - PPM was near 1400. Overall not much stretching, could have let veg another week without much problem I think.
05/10 added a small dehumidifier (vivosun - 1.3L tank.. it's small). That bubblegum is really growing nicely. With training ( no training on this at all - only topped once) it would have been a beast. Didn't clone it either - because I'm smart like that.😂 Added 2ml/L of AN's B-52 on day 20. Just happened to be feeding nutes and would have been adding that in week 4 of flower - as per AN feeding charts. Real nice trichome production on all plants. They all currently smell kind of piney - but the Bubblegum is sweeter, the Pink berry is more of a tart-ish citrus/grapefruit-y.
The northern lights was just very vaguely piney. not much smell.
05/13 - added Big bud and B-52 on 05/10.
PPM is over 1400 - plants show zero sign of over fertilizing.. I'm impressed. I've always found AN to be pretty hot - where I can run it slightly below recommendation, but Im tempted to increase with these gals. I won't, but I'm tempted.
05/17 - received last "week 4" nutrient mix. Next watering will introduce overdrive. Buds are looking a little smaller than expected - especially that the Northern Lights is a 6 to 7 weeks. Will most likely be pushing right to 7 maybe 8.
05/24 - May have mislabeled Bubblegum and Northern lights; Based on the "bubbled gum" being clearly more mature than the other 2 and I had some seed dropping issue I thought I had cleared up. It is what it is - but one plant has much more orange hairs than the other 2, and I had 1 "fast version" The Northern Lights.
Top nugs on "Bubblegum" are nice and tight, fed last nutrients on 05/24 - will start flush on next watering. Trichomes seems to be clouding up - generally speaking. The "northern lights" and Pink Berry will keep on AN feed schedule - possibly to 9 weeks. (there's virtually no browning hairs at the start of week 6).
Based on a number of factors, I've relabeled the bubblegum and northern lights. I guess I did mix the seeds up (by being a dummy) - but all the profiles of each respective plants indicates a mix up. One is piney, the other sweet. One is early, the other on time for a 9 week finish.
There's a lesson there. I hope I learn.
05/31 - Been giving only water to the Northern Lights (pH'd at 6) - Gave 8 L today to flush out nutrients. Runoff was at 6.5, 3100ppm(!!!!!) - but I haven't been watering till there's runoff the whole grow (fear of overwatering), so it could be collected salts and not a lock out (doesn't seem to be one to me...). Either ways, it'll be getting 8L a couple of times to wash the medium out. Will up watering quantity to other plants. With a runoff like that, I also wonder if my pen is off OR very surprised at the plants handling it with not signs of burning.

Week 10. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!
Northern Lights Fast Version - Quebec Cannabis Seeds QCS
This plant was really nice from the get go. Really nice growth, responded extremely well to the slightest of pruning. I regret not cloning the plant for outdoors. Ultimately, it will all depend on the final product. I did try a bud that fell off while removing the netting and tried it. If it's an indicator of what's to come, this should be really nice. I'm happy with the results of this plant. Considering my experience, wattage and foot-space, just over 60g for one plant isn't too shabby!
This was a great first grow. Really learned/remembered/reminded of a lot of things from past/old experience. I am a little late closing this off, but it was fun, ended up with a real nice smoke.
Wicked strain to grow, really tight buds, tons of hairs. easy to trim.
The buzz was indica, but not too strong - I'd smoke this all day long. Nice grapefruit tastes.
