Thinking of pulling this whole run at this point, the stems are in a bad way and general structure has really suffered. FIM'd both girls this week & gave compost tea(ecothrive biosys) to aid recovery. Will make a decision on growing them out depending on how they respond. (Update end of week.) So in the first week these girls stretched terribly, instead of riding it out and letting them adjust I tried a trick I've applied with tomatoes in the garden and coiled an inch of the excess under the surface and covered it. After a burst of invigorating from the microbe tea(biosys) these girls seem to be recovering from the stress fairly well. The only down side, the stems have broken the surface and left me with these crazy bonsai style stems & the girls are very short and bushy, concerned the stems won't hold any weight later in life.. Will give this another week and make my decision TLDR; Don't interfere with nature when you can help it, especially with autoflowers. Update day 28 from sprout. Bbk1 showing signs of nitrogen toxicity after perking up, I had to use the bottle measure last week instead of a syringe. Much less accurate so assume this is the cause, just ph water for a while. Bbk2 perking up slightly. I did think these girls looked a funny shape and now I can see the stem properly its starting to make sense 🤦‍♂️🤣🤣

PSA: don't interfere with leggy seedlings. You'll only do more harm than good. I tampered with these as I would leggy tomatoes. The stems have broken surface end of week 4 and I'm worried they're not going to hold any late weight.. Should I just scrap this run? I have beans 😅

hey there Hg, yeah i see it there in the picture. Usually what you want to do is to immediately bandage it with opaque tape like duct tape. Leave it too long though, and there's no point. Reason is you're trying to keep light and air out, these hinder the healing and oxidise the wound, respectively. if it's been a lot more than 2-3 , dont bother, but for next time, make a bandage. Hope this helps ! 🚀

@Hg91uk, it's probably worth it growmie . think of it as some kind of monster-cropping technique where you intentionally cause stress making the plant push out more weight 😉

@CRiSPrGrow,hey dude. Haven't quite answered my main question, but definitely a helpful informative answer. I'm wondering if its worth growing them out or if they will just suffer too much in later life? Never had this happen before and they're really struggling in general 🤦‍♂️

I might watch this one as I've grown a few of these, she's a very pretty plant, and easy to deal with too. Not really suited to lots of training as the stems get very rigid fast. Topping works well. Good Luck.

@Freddd, will definitely see how they're looking in a couple of weeks time they seem to of struggled a bit with the early heatwave :(

@Hg91uk, topping does work well on this plant, I'd probably go more for the fourth node though due to this not being very branchy.

@Freddd, hey Fred thanks for the advice. I was considering topping both girls at the 3rd but I've had a few issues with climate stability so I was thinking of just letting them do their thing. Guess I'll play it by ear for now
