Switching from Veg to Flower. What R the dos and don’ts. Currently lights 5am-11pm. Lights off over night. I’ve heard give them 24 of darkness and then 12/12. But I’d like to end up with the lights on from 8am-8pm. What are my options.

So giving 24 hours of darkness doesn't really do anything. I've tried it on a couple grows and noticed no difference in how the plants flower. As far as dos and don'ts go, there really aren't any. You can just cut back on the hours of light either from lights on, lights off, or both. In your situation, if I was you, I would just set my timer to 8am-8pm which would be right in the middle of your current light cycle making things nice and easy. There's really no need to overcomplicate this step despite all the information and crazy ideas out there about all sorts of different growing techniques. To be honest, most of the information out there is untested nonsense that people repeat and spout as if it was a scientific fact. Keep it easy and simple and you really can't go wrong. Hope this helps! If you need any more help or just want to chat, feel free to dm me!

@labifle that only applies to autos. There no real right or wrong way. Can drop 1/2 hr per day until at 12/12. Or can just switch. Regardless will take about 10-14 days for her to start to show signs of flowering.

Hey just switch directly :-). Don't switch off for 24 hours :-) Keep it up, your plants are beautiful 😍👌👍

The simple answer is to extend the dark until you get to the new time cycle you want. Shorter or interrupted light cycles don't matter near as much. It's the dark cycle that needs to be at least 12 and not be interrupted. In your scenario, just turn off lights at 8pm after only 15 hours of light. And go 12-12 from there.

I myself stage it. Drop it down 2 hours every night (turn on a hour later and turn off a hour earlier) tell you get to 12/12.
