labifleanswered grow question 6y ago Hey gardener! Yes, it's possible for a plant to become hermaphrodite at the beginning/middle or end of its life. First of all, any kind of stress can turn a plant into a hermie, whether it's heat, cold, a light leak, or even a nutrient shock due to pH being too high or too low. Secondly, hazes, Jamaicans, and Thais are types of sativa that tend to produce hermaphrodites because in nature, they mostly are. As for whether it's a problem, I would say yes because you want sensimilla and not seeds, but since you're at the end of the cycle, the seeds won't have time to develop, so you can still harvest next week, but you should remove the male flowers and flush them down the toilet. Yes, you can smoke this weed because you normally won't have seeds, and even if there were some, you can still smoke it. In Africa, they have seeds in the local stuff, and it's good to smoke but takes a while to roll since you have to sort out the seeds. Good luck to you, take care!
