P. S. - ive just purchased a marshydro sp150 which fit great into a 60cm frame.. I wud highly recommend 1 or 2 of these instead of hps.. They last years and cost much less in the long run.. I am currently in the transition of switch to led completely but i still notice my plants sumtimes enjoy the warmth of my hps.. Both will do the job.. Just trying to give an honest opinion from my own setups.. Whatever ur choice i hope u enjoy growing in all its highs and lows(weve all killed plants at sum point🤣).. Stay safe.. 👍🍀

Tldr - Either get a bigger tent, or get N led instead of HPS. Echoing the previous answer, I have a 90x50x180 (roughly) and I'm running a 600w HPS with a wing right now and I have to watch it all the time because it gets too hot sometimes and when it does it happens quick. I like the HPS "results" so far but will likely go with a bigger tent next time; and if it wasn't free to me I would have bought an Led that runs cooler.

in a 60x60x120 i wouldn't go for an HID, as it's getting much too warm (even with a cooltube, which is basically running the extraction fan through a tube that the light sits in).. You'll already have difficulties to find a filter/fan combination that fits inside the 60x60, easily, then let alone pulling it through a cooltube.. (unless you mount the fan and filter outside the tent. I also just ordered a 60x60 (but 160 high) to add to my setups, and got myself quantum board LEDs for it, as they can provide a more even illumination, with much less heat-generation and less power consumption. When ordering in China the price can be quite good. For instance Kingbrite uses original Samsung LEDs and are good quality. That's what i'll get for not only the 60x60, but i will also upgrade another one of my boxes with one of their boards.

Hello.. Hope u are well.. Ur best bet is a dimmable 600w hps digital ballast.. These have the advantage of being at 250w,400w,600w & 660w settings at the flick of a switch.. I doubt u'll ever get to the highest setting(in ur tent size, but winter u cud flick it up maybe? ) but ur bulbs will last much longer because urnot burning them out as quickly on a low setting.. Sunmaster dual spectrum hps bulbs emit 90,000 lumens which is pretty strong!.. U can buy cool shades to fit around ur hps and put a fan exhaust system on it quite cheaply nowadays which helps a huge deal.. Hope this helps.. Stay safe n gud luck.. 👍🍀

Salut le jardinier ! je me rappel bien mes cours de l’époque alors 150/250 pour les 60x60 / 250/400 pour les 80x80 / 400/600 pour les 120 et 600/1000 pour les 150 . bonne chance , bella ciao

Ok assuming thats in centimetres. so a 2x2x4 foot tent. Bad juju for a HID far better fit for your tent would be a LED like Mars Hydro TS1000 HIDs with hoods, and you would have to have one, take up a lot of space compared to LEDS and you would not be as stressed out over the heat issues. I ran a variable HID at 300 watts in a 75x75x180 tent and it was a huge pain Choose wisely 😉

nothing more than 400w and it must have a cooltube otherwise it would be too hot to control. 250w would be your best bet, with a good air intake and out with a fan moving air. with 400w,I would leave the door of that tent open 7/24 to prevent extreme heats. tent's manual should be saying to go with 250w, I would just follow it. both ways you are going to need a cooltube reflector.
