Hello.. Hope you are well.. Simple answer.. Just start simple 1 or 2 plants in gud quality soil.. Basic feeds of grow and bloom.. A gud seed from a REAL seed bank or cutting from a friend's garden that is a proven worthwhile strain with seen results.. Thats all u need to start.. U will pick up the rest as u go on.. u WILL make mistakes as we all have.. Ur methods will change but ur basic knowledge of the plant and her needs is all u need to learn.. To do that u will take time and lots of reading and practical experience to b a master grower.. Having peeps to help answer questions is a huge advantage we didnt av 20yrs ago🤣.. For new grower - Don't tell any one that you are growing. I like photo better. Any mistake, just go back to veg light schedule. For auto, there is no re-set button. Every things has to be perfect at once. Go with proven strains. Go with easy to grow strain. Then next time, you can try strains that were bred to win award warp dimension. These can be finicky and need very specific conditions. Buy fresh seeds. By in-season. If it is cheap, then it can be old or can be fake. Look up for reviews on seeds distributor or breeders to see if they actually would deliver seeds or if seeds germinate. Don't use garden soil from super market. Either mix your own soil from formula in the internet or buy cannabis specific soil. Don't use slow release fertilizer for vegetable. Either go organic and feed with worm casting or buy cannabis specifice fertilizer. Buy equipment like pH testers, weight scale, wifi microscope, syringes before hands, humidity meter. Use quality LED. It makes a big difference. These are my eight contribution. Good luck.

1. Keep it simple with nutes don't buy everything on the chart. The "advanced" and "pro level" charts are marketing tools to sell you more sugar water. 2. Liquid nutes are for suckers, your paying to ship 98% water 3. Don't go cheap on your lights, its not worth it. Trust me, you'll end up buying the light you really want anyways. Plus lights will make or bust your yield and quality. Don't buy the 1000w led on amazon for $59. Look at the true wattage draw. Stick with reputable components like Samsung diodes and meanwell drivers. Great beginner lights can be found for 150 usd. 4. Hydro vs soil...hydro hydro hydro. Bigger faster and heavier yields. 100% control of the growing media at all times means easy and immediate corrections. I'm playing in the soil right now and while its cool to say words like organic, nitrogen is nitrogen. 5. Photo vs auto grow both, I'm leaning towards photo as I like to control how long the plants veg for and if I fuck up something I can veg it a little longer to recover. Autos, if you want a potentially and I mean potentially faster harvest, these usually do the trick. Make a goof on an auto and it could be lights out and you end up with a 6" tall 8g harvest. 6. Look around, get ideas from everyone and see what works for you. YouTube is a friend. Ask people on GD. Most of us are friendly people. 7. Don't be lazy. Don't neglect checking your plants for a few days. If you grow in hydro get a ph and ppm/ec meter. Don't even try with out one. Soil, not really needed as much. 8. Don't be afraid to screw up and make mistakes. If You aren't making occasional mistakes, you aren't learning. Carelessness however is another thing.

do your own research. Auto vs photo.. soil vs hydro... Nutrients... All of this is really subjective and/or opinion based at best. Don't overwater or underwater and listen to your plant. Hydro is fast but uses a ton of water. Water cheap? great!. Coco is an alternative but requires regular feedings so get's a bit more complicated a good hydro setup can be self supporting and only requires weekly changes and daily ph checks. Autos grow fast.. Photos have better genetics. People will disagree, again it's kind of subjective.
