Defoliating is like removing a lung wing from an athlete and expecting him to set a new world record. I would only use it as a last resort if the leaves are blocking airflow, making it easier for mold etc.

Hey, Yes you can defoliate. You’ve already done some LST, great job! You now can see what growth has been exposed and what growth is going to be shaded out. Clip off anything that’s not fully exposed the light and your basically going to get the lady to shoot into a growth spurt, allowing you to tie out wider and tie down the lower growth as it catches up. You can definitely defoliate at this age, but your plants look pretty open with nice light penetration. Not much blockages from what i can see. But if you're wanting to "top" or do some other defoliation training methods your definitely a good age.
