Watering technique after mulching

How should I water with mulch? I know i have to wait longer to water (my whole idea behind why I mulched, it’s about to get into the mid 90s next week), but should I move the mulch to water the soil or just water the mulch?

Hello
Water right over the mulch,it will help retain water while it's hot. If you're worried about it evaporating too quickly you can also line around the plant with stones and that'll help keep things cool and slowly increase humidity. 👍
It's 100 degrees here with 12% humidity and i have to water everyday basically.

The mulch will steal some of your nutes before they get to the roots but i dont see a problem with watering through
