Switching from LED to HID

Platostardigrade
Platostardigradestarted grow question 4 years ago
I am concerned about the heat from my HID bulb and the cost of running it throughout the whole growth process. I was thinking of running a LED light for the seedling and vegetative phase and switching to the HID once the Autoflower has begun flowering. Is this possible?

I had the same concerns. Genrally to counter the heat and electricity costs of the HID I germinate and run the first 4 weeks under LEDs. Then switch to a HID and LED combo for that extra punch.

Hey Growmie, LED lights are more energy-efficient and need to be replaced a lot less often than HID lights. This results in saved money and effort. Additionally, HIDs start losing their brightness as time passes and needs to be replaced even before theyre completely done. Since your growing autoflowers there really is no need to pay a higher electric bill along with replacing bulbs when the LED will do your autoflower just fine. Hopefully, this was helpful and remember ..."Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".

Sure! Shouldn't be an issue.. If you can control the heat you could run both in flower!👊
