Best practices using microbial innoculants? What product(s) do you use, how, when, & why? Are they really worth it? I have been using several products & while things looks great, at some point adding more only equals diminished returns. I look forward to a respectful discussion! ☮️

Yo uso Microorganismos capturados en los bosques de mi zona y son fantásticos, con ellos inoculo el sustrato y también hago fermentados anaeróbicos... coste bajísimo. 😌

i've used a bunch of different microbial products. And I think youre right more is not better. unless you are using differrent microbial types. Most dry microbial and wet ones give the starin of bacteria or fungal spores present.

@ThEm4DSc13_TiSt, I am adding all sorts of stuff. My results have been much healthier and happier plants. Healthier roots (after harvest, when taking them out of pots, it is a solid root ball. I am just wondering if maybe I am wasting money, you know. Like, would I get the same results using less. I updated my feeding schedule and now rotate the innocculants I am using. I uploaded pics of the feeding schedule to a couple diaries. growdiaries.com/diaries/68090-white-widow-purple-queen-blueberry-strawberry-amnesia-triple-cheese-chernobyl-original-skunk-1-gelat-og-grow-journal-by-fotwenny/week/324940 growdiaries.com/diaries/68090-white-widow-purple-queen-blueberry-strawberry-amnesia-triple-cheese-chernobyl-original-skunk-1-gelat-og-grow-journal-by-fotwenny/week/324946 I noticed a typo on the veg cycle (Cal mag full strength should be 1 tsp/gal not 2) and had since corrected it, but I need to get a new photo and upload that in place of the incorrect one. If you look at the microbial products I am using (indicated on the feed chart by a letter M followed by a number), prior to last 2 week before harvest I was using all but Mammoth P every feed in varying ratios between 50% and full strength. Now, I have a consistent schedule and can measure the success and make adjustments as needed. I am no expert, really just inquiring on what other growers think about the subject and what my current plan is. The AG Garden Friendly Fungicide is basically the same bacteria as in Hydroguard (bacillus Amyloliquefaciens).

What aren u using? Lol u been around my page for a min, u should really ck out my IG acct tho I post way more on there. I've run a few experimental runs sort of playing around with what u speak of. I've sort of found the same thing too. I guess it's one of the too much of a good thing is not necessarily a good thing lol. Really, the one I use religiously when actually looking for quality and not studying how the girls react getting tortured😂 is hydroguard... But I'd argue, even tho it's not really recommended,( I dont think half if what I do actually is) I've run some organics in my recirculating system along side their salt based cousins. With equally Impressive results... Depending on what I was looking for in a run, honestly I'd probably do it again. I'm still playing with using organic soil amendments, along side a few different companies salt based line ups. To see just what it is thats actually detrimental to a grow and what could be a beneficial combo. Sry for rambling but what u said struck a nerve inu brain cuznits sort of something along the lines of what I do on occasion. So I was jus wondering what u have tried so far and what your findings were?

Hey hey....I have been using Microbe Life Hydroponics Plus-C and the Veg/Fruit Yield Enhancer. Aside from the putrid smell of the Plus-C, my plants love them! I learned my lesson from the powdered soluble 'crack' nutes and won't be going that route again! After consulting with a veteran grower, she told me that me using the microbes, along with humic/fluvic acids, there is no need to add in crack nutes. I would share a picture, but don't think I can in this message. Anyway, google it and you should find them.

@HarbingerOfHarvests, Hello, my friend! Thanks for dropping some knowledge on us all! I have seen and heard of Great White, but bought a large bag of Mycos from Extreme Gardening a while back and still have like half a bag left. So, I have just been using that. Maybe I will be a bit more liberal with it to use it up . When it runs out, I will definitely have to check out Great White. From my understanding, one benefit of innoculants is their ability to compete with the anaerobic bacterias that are so detrimental to the roots and rhizosphere. Good hearing from you and happy growing!

Much better then "voodoo juice" from Advanced.. That's about the only comparison I have.. But if it isn't broke... Why fix it?

I use Great White Shark... It visually provides examples of bigger meaner plants.. Rawr like a shark.. contains 15+ different root zone microbes.. It's powdered.. It's cheap.. It's a hobby growers best friend.. I use it during the early/low ppm feeding days to help build healthy strong root structure.. Then I stop because it's bacteria... And adding more every week is redundant after a certain point and so is adding so many different kinds... The liquid stuff is insanely expensive no matter who you get it from and yea that's about all I have to say about that... Liquids from any nutrient company in any form of liquid based.. Will be majority water like 70% or more.. Cannabis nutrient companies have been "ripping" growers off for years... They don't rely on volume sales they rely on a bunch of idiots all over the world buying the product at an insanely high price...

@The8thChevron, I started using Ag Garden Friendly Biological Fungicide (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain D747*) after reading a lot of great reviews on Tribus. I did some research on the active ingredients and that's how I found Ag Garden Friendly Biological Fungicide (AG GFBF). The active ingredient is Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, the same as in Hydroguard; however, the AG GFBF sites a specific strain. I haven't done enough research to verify what, if any, difference there might be with the specific strain. The Serenade and the AG GFBF contain 2 of the 3 ingredients found in Tribus, but at much more cost effective pricepoint. The recharge includes the third strain (Bacillus pumilus) along with several other goodies. I just don't know if I am going overboard. I suppose I could do the math to aim for similar ratios as to what can be found in Tribus. Any thoughts or suggestions?

@Experimentgreen, I have been wanting to implement a 24 hour brew period. Being that it's a newer garden and still getting everything dialed in, I haven't gotten an air pump and stone hooked up yet, but I will definitely do this prior to next run. Thanks for the feedback!

I have been using Azos for seedlings and a combination of Axos and Mycos when transplanting. Mycos top dressing every 2-3 weeks until 4th week of flower. I have been alternating Southern Ag Garden Friendly Biological Fungicide (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain D747*) and Serenade (Bacillus subtilis QST 713) with feeds. I add 1/4 tsp of Humboldt's Secret Plant Enzymes per 10-15 gallons every other watering. I am currently running the full line of Fox Farm Nutes and it also includes microbes in several of their products. I know for sure Microbe Brew and Root Drench have microbes. I just ordered Recharge too (hey, why not). I have found that the microbial innoculants can be used pretty liberally, but I tend to stick to full or label strength (give or take 10%) with all microbial innoculants. Based off of this information, any suggestions or feedback?

Oh i also don't typically use these products more than maybe 3 times through a grow. Germination, transplant, and maybe a root soak towards flowering time just to make sure my soils life is active.

Hello So i think the majority of these bottled microbe companies or "instant teas" are reporting false numbers, or you'll find the microbes to be dead or dormant. You'd have much better luck and numbers with an ACT. However....if you're going to use a bottled microbe, i would use mammoth p(you could try others too and maybe do a controlled experiment) but the key to any of these is feeding the microbes either with molasses, a organic meal, or catalyst. And more luck still by brewing like a compost tea for 24 hours. With the high costs you really want the most you can get and that really comes with a 24 hour brew...sheesh even a 12! Ive tried doing innoculant at germination and I can't say with true confidence that it's ever done that much on its own. I felt like i saw some positives while using xtreme Mykkos when transplanting, but it may just be coincidence. Do your research, find out if the specific company is reporting genuine information, not saying 10,000 spores when there's actually 500. And use wisely.

I like hydroguard to protect roots. Works like a dream. I also like Diamond Nectar for humic acids, this increases uptake of immobile (micro) nutrients. There are some others you can use, but I think you're just overdoing it at some point.
