Can I ask the auto growers would you advise topping? I’ve read I can top if they are growing well and around the end of week 3?
I’m in two minds whether to top say three of them or all as it is my first time with autos. I don’t want to regret not topping.
Any advice many thanks
Hey Growmie,
As an experienced autoflower grower, I would advise not to, for some reason when you top autos their buds don't get as dense compared to a plant that hasn't been topped. I would recommend LST they respond very well to it. Hopefully, I answered your question and remember "Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time"
Heya Greenqueen420!
I would not top autoflower plants, they like the least amount of stress possible as they have a limited life span. The best technique with autos is to just LST them. Myself and other growers I have talked to have seen a decline in yields when topping and heavily defoliating autos.
Good luck with the grow!
When topping autos It must be done, removing the 5th or 6th node, no later than that or it will start flowering. Which is fairly soon, usually at the end of week 2 ir early week 3
It's really up to you. You can top or LST, just remember not to stress the plant after it starts to flower. Now would be a good time to do any training.
