Cold water flush?

FoTwenny
FoTwennystarted grow question 4 years ago
Someone recommended trying refrigerating water when feeding during flush at end of flower. They advised to use a water chiller to keep the temperature about 58 degrees Fahrenheit. Can anyone further support this recommendation with personal experience?

Good Question ?, I know this helps to bring out more colours but I think it might do more, for example lower temps stop Terpenes from evaporating so I think it should help with that process.

use it, i use it all the time to get great color fades , what it does is shocks the roots, and in return they send out signals to the leaves and tris. if your running a strain that could have purple in it or blue, by using the cold water you get those colors out, and it is a beautiful thing to see, it also is supposed to bring out more tris as well but if the strain has a lot of resin it may help. so get those roots super cold and see what happens

@ThEm4DSc13_TiSt Yeah, you know how I do! 😂😂😂🤦 Thanks for the support and encouragement! think I am going to get a water chiller. Just one more factor I can experiment with and get it all dialed in. Plus, if I ever want to try my hand at hydro, I will need it anyhow. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience! ☮️♥️🌲

Whaaaats up FOTWENNY!!! jeez girl! Made it to master grower in no time!! That's a bit more believable imo anyways! Killer!! No I'm not sure on this question a definite answer but I have stock a few two and a half gallon buckets into my freezer and chilled them to use during my flush before and I actually totally forgot about even doing it until I read this but I can tell you that the end result that s*** was fire!!!!🔥🔥🔥 If nothing else you know like with everything try it out see what you think that little bit of additional stress might push your plants do a different level of resin production you never know?🤷‍♂️🏼 Page is looking awesome btw!! Keep up the killer wrk!!

Hey FoTwenny, there is scientifical evidence (some studies have proven this actually) that a darkness-period of 48 hours will create a last terpene- and trichome-rush in terms of developement. However, there is no such evidence on stressing the plants with refrigerating water. Many people still do it, before the darkness-period because they feel better about it. As far as I know, there are no risks or negative effects on doing so. I guess it's a either you wanna try it or not situation 😄 Cheers bud :-))

When you type it in google and a lot of threads appear from 420 forums, its a good sign the information is legit, when no1 ever talked about it, it sort of sticks to being just a couple of people's opinions.

if you grow a photoperiodic most probably the plants when the temperature slow down recognize some like it's autumn and keep faster to the finish, if you grow an Automatic the best is to take the same enviroment about all the cycle of her life
