How can I harvest ?

My plant is almost ready to be harvested but only the top half, the bottom half is not ready yet and probably needs 10-12 days more. Can I cut just the top half or the ready branch and leave the rest of the plant to develop ? Thanks

Didn't realize I had photoperiod. 20 weeks later, do I need to do anything different now that I want to flower?Didn't realize that I had photoperiod seed to start my DWC grow. 20 WEEKS IN and I just switched lights to 12/12.
