Slowly Adding Seedlings to Veg Tent - Can the method below work??

Let's say I have different sets of seedlings that will go into a veg tent 2 weeks apart. For example, week 1 = first set of seedlings to veg. Week 3, add to veg tent Week 5, add the next set. Is this even legit? Can you just extend the veg period until they all catch up?

Hey! Yes it could work but I don’t recommend it. I’ll try and break this down. What you want is an even canopy to get even light coverage to have even growth and in the end nice buds. The first ones you add will be taller than the last, now to have an even canopy what you could do is train the first ones as they grow, doing some LST or topping them, so that as they grow your limiting their height so the others can catch up. With a bit of work you could get that done. But the last sets wouldn’t be as advanced as the first ones and won’t have the same size or yield the same even though having the same height. Basically to do this you’ll need to do a lot of training. I recommend you just pop them in all at once and even doing that you’ll have troubles with getting an even canopy and having the same height. Even more if there’s different strains.. sativas and indicas which grow differently. Not even to mention is some or all of them are Autoflowers. If you check out my diaries I’ve got mostly indicas and Teo sativas.. they’re all in the same tent, started together and there’s quite some difference in height.. which took training and adding support to raise the ones that are shorter. Hope this helped you make your mind up. Any questions let me know. Good luck and happy Growing.

This method will work, but what will happen is the first set you add in will stretch during those 2 weeks. So you end up with the first set being twice as tall as the second set. If you have separate lights for each set, this won't be a problem, but if you don't then your second set will become light deprived. You're better off extending the veg period of the first set for an additional 2 weeks unless they're autos and you dont have the option.

It shouldn't be a problem, tho the later seedlings will stretch more, as you can't have the lamp as close to them, as the first ones you've germinated, unless you use taller pots or raise the pots with something.. Topping and LST are ways to get around that tho.
