I got my TDS meter today. I’m growing in fox farms ocean forest and I’m at 2 and a half weeks on my grow. I’m going to start giving Cal-Mag tomorrow. My question is what should my soils ppm be and how do I test it?

Stay in a range from 1200/1400 , it will be fine with most strains, You can also stay a little bit higher but it is at your own risk , with this range you can improve nutrients as the plants start to show any sign of deficency you can check the level in the soil watering a pot and collecting the runoff water and then test it

if you are trying to get the PPM of the soil you will need to send it to the lab. What you have is for the nutrient solution (you would need something like a mass spec for soil and that would cost at a min a few K), ppm of the nutrient solution will be on other journals and manufacturers guide. Good luck.
