Another noob question regarding late flowering?

Auto-flowering strains start automatically making buds (flowering) when they're 3-4 weeks old. Sometimes though they forget their autos and need help with flowering, you can get them to flower by switching the light cycle to 12/12 and that will make her start flowering.
