The white spikes are the leaf "veins" that are a bit like a skeleton, but the rest of the leaf has not "fleshed"" out, hence why the veins/spikes stick out. This happens from time to time for whatever reason and I find that the second set of leaves are usually fine, - if not, I toss them. It is not a light or nutrien/pH problem, just a slight weirdo seed. As we all know, not all seeds make it and not all seeds are perfect either.

Yea the focus was really on the soil line vs the leaf, It's not yellow dead leaf is fresh white spikes growing at the tips of the stunted leaves.. I'm just going to let it grow out and will pop a new seed to grow beside it if it fails to pick its self up in a weeks time. Has a load of spikes aorund the seedling to protect it from the fucking birds that pluck all my shit. I feel PH is in check or everything else would be dead all starting from seed. Don't know if I can reduce light outdoors, don't care to shield it. if it dies it dies.

You broke it. reduce light check pH etc... make sure no unintended stress from environment. find out soon enough if it grows out of it. pop another just in case? i find that the retarded ones that don't grow out of it early on are lesser plants at the end too. the pic is a bit blurry. is it possibly singed or deformed leaf tip? Maybe, an early root wrapping aound some amendment to soil? ... normally not an issue with larger root mass.... if not genetic.

There is no diary linked yet. working on it. Its growing in soil same as my other outdoors seeds and they all have sprouted just fine without error. The other plant sprouts are ground cover for the pots so they don't dry out to fast in the summer. The leaves are stunted and have little white tips almost like pistils. Otherwise it looks healthy. Wondering is this is a clue to future issues with this plant. Leaning towards genetics but wanted to hear some ideas from others in the community. There was one question like this in the last few months that I remember seeing but can find it. The one I did find was from a year ago. Was going to ask the user what ended up happening but they have not logged in for a year now. :/
