Whats good amount of light?

Whats a good amount of light? I heard 45,000 lux is a good amount. But to get that much from my light I'd have to have it 20cm give or take away from the top of the plant. Is that not to close? Or would that be fine? Using 450 watt led. She is a auto if that makes a difference.

the light is fine to run for autos, in the future i would pick up a bigger light. what you want to look for is the par reading :
PAR, which stands for Parabolic Aluminized Reflector, bulbs produce about four times the concentrated light intensity of general service A shape bulbs and are ideal for recessed and track lighting. Like all light bulbs, the numbered value (i.e. PAR 20 and PAR 30) represents the diameter of the bulb in 1⁄8 of an inch. Therefore, a PAR 38 would be 4.75 inches in diameter. LED PAR light bulbs provide a directional output and exceptional beam profile characteristics while using only a fraction of power.
lux is a great number but go by par, a 450 watt led should be hung above the tops in veg at 18 inches (45.72cm) and 14 inches (35.56cm)
so yes the 20cm is way too close and you will end up burning your plant.
with par values you get that by flowing the directions of the maker you could even lower the light if you need to.

More light.. More photosynthesis.. More weight.. Granted it's a little more complex then that but no matter what anyone tells you there is no imaginary number that's gonna work for every plant. But Cannabis loves Light period... Using your hand is a poor indicator.. I got a 5 foot tall sativa that's under 400 watts and it's like 6 inches away.. only minor foliage damage.. plants in general get much more acclimatized to the lights when there grow up into them.. So if your constantly mucking with your lights.. This can cause problems. LUX is a really poor tool for growing with leds.. Measuring tape is your friend. Stop reading stuff on the internet and don't get caught up in research and numbers. get out there and grow some Cannabis :).

A 450 watt MH or HPS can be kept much closer than 600 or 1000 watters. If your hand feels comfortable under the light for a minute your girls will be fine. Cheers

Depends on what light you are using for your grow. You could probably get away with 20cm using an led light. Question that you need to ask is lowering it that much affecting the light distribution for the whole plant/ tent? 45000 lux is on the lower end but will still produce....for flowering i like to be around 60 to 65000 lux. I personally would look to upgrade your light or add to it to get your desired operating lux while still providing even light to the rest of the tent or plant.

Cola growing again after to much light while flowering?In the last 2 weeks of flowering this plant seems to have started to grow at the top of the cola again. Lefft the lights on 5 hours too long 1 night. Also needed to do some maintenance etc in the same week. Maybe to much light (DLI) and starterd growing again for short while?
