Seems like a lot. umol/s is how you determine how much light you need. efficacy makes watts apples to oranges comparison. umol/J is your efficacy rating. Any good light should come with these specs. if one is missing you can determine the other. watts * efficacy = umol/s. ~80-100 umol/s per sq. ft. ~100 will give a little headroom for max light without CO2 added, and likely 80 a bit too. if you find your lights cannot provide that average over the area you have, make the area smaller. Then you can decide how many plants to fill that area... large or small just depends on how long you gro them. Autoflowers, figure 1 per 18"x18" or a bit more for the XL varieties.

Meters? I think 8x600w hid is a little too much, or 8x400 or 6x600 , a 600w in less than 80x80 is a little bit too much light and heat you will give the plant. For sure the dimmerable ones, or if you can go to led. For the numers of plant, i will put 32 plants in 12.5l to have 2 plant sided on each side x 8row on each side, maybe 20l also , better bigger than smaller ✌️🏽 Hope to be clear and useful, if u have any other question tells us, maybe some regolamentation of your state will not allow so many plants or other trouble. If u have a veg room also u can also do only 8 plants in 40l
