Right before you chop use a pair of trimmers and cut leaves that are discolored off at the stem of the leaves if possible. Its easier to do it while the buds are still attached to the plant. You can then cut off the tips off any yellowish leaves not covered in trichomes after you chop. It's a bit time consuming but it will give your buds a cleaner more top shelf look to them. It's really a matter of preference.
