[Polyploidy] I am fascinated with this specific mutation but yet to experience it so any type of information would be helpful!

Has anyone tried working with polyploids? are there any other methods more natural methods of inducing that particular mutation than colchicine application? and for colchicine application what is used for best results? seedling or a clone? Thank you for your time :)

True, natural polyploidism is unheard of in nature for cannabis. Colchicine is best used to treat seeds to induce polyploidism, but is a deadly poison and no part of any plant treated with colchicine should ever be ingested for at least one generation. Experiments that I and some of my friends undertook many years ago in the quest for "super pot" led us to believe the risks were too great for the home gardener, the results were highly random and virtually impossible to stabilize in the mother plants or any subsequent generations. If you had access to millions of dollars, a dedicated laboratory, 100s of thousands of seeds/plants and enough patience for years of research, you may get a stable strain. However, all that have gone down this path, that I am aware of, have usually lost funding due to not providing any tangible results. As far as I know, cannabis is limited to about a maximum of physical production of THC of about 30-35%, which means breeders are already knocking on that door with "normal" diploid plants, so the need for polyploids seems unnecessary at this time. Remember too, just THC levels are not what gets people "high", but a combination of many, many cannabinoids working in harmony to combine the "recipe" for "highness". If it were easy and safe, breeders would have been able to bring these "super plants" on to the market long ago. Colchicine is a toxic poison and I would advise against even thinking about using it at home. It is not really a mutation, but gene manipulation and this is the stuff of Frankenstein and science fiction. Never, ever consume anything treated with colchicine, it may cause irreversible damage to your body. Hope this helps,..... Organoman.

Hey Kannabliss, I looked at your diaries but other than beautiful and bountiful grows I couldnt see a polyploid, I might've missed it so any chance you could send me a link to that specific diary or even instagram page? Thanks!!

Hey Organoman, yeah I am aware of the dangers of colchicine usage that's exactly why I am trying to see if it's possible to induce it in a more natural way, for example I've heard of successful attempts in inducing polyploidy by removing the seed husk of the seedling as soon as it breaks open and feeding it with rooting hormones based off phytohormones. And as for the THCa potency I am not at all looking for that since cannabinoids far more beneficial (both for medical and recreational use) effects, i.e. THCVa/CBDVa/CBCa, and most importantly CBGa. What I am looking for in polyploidy is actually the plant growing requirements and precautions, I'll explain, in polyploidy as far as I know since there is an extra set/s of chromosomes then the cells (such as the mitochondria) tend to be bigger or greater in numbers, this characteristic also tends to give the plant, especially the foliage, deep dark green coloration (which I believe is caused by the increased chlorophyll amount). If utilized, and if possible, stabilized then I believe it will make stronger strains in terms of growth rate, pest and fungus resistance, and overall growth requirements. Since it is a very unstable trait/mutation then I agree that without the proper equipment and resources it's almost impossible to achieve a stable polyploid strain even with the use of colchicine. Anyways this is all just a hypothesis and my own theories based on earlier research done on that trait I looked into, and not facts in any way. Thank you for addressing my question I really appreciate that and would love to chat a bit more about it if you're down :)

I ended up getting one of our plants to do this. I'm currently growing It out now. Our pics are on Instagram. But we got it after using a pk booster. Come check it out if ya want. 🤘😤
