Bloom booster for denser buds?

indoorontario
indoorontariostarted grow question 4 years ago
Does anyone out there have experience with, and/or had success or failure using bloom boosters? I want to give my plants the kick they need to produce a denser bud, but with the numbers on these boosters how does it not cause lockout or toxicity?

I have about a year experience with powdered nutrients used in high concentrations and yes it can work very well. Though you have to be very careful where you use it and what you use it with. Most of these products are to be used in water alone and not mixed with other nutrients like your base b feed. as the previous grower has state this will more than likely cause toxicity. If you had started the cycle using liquid nutrients I would advise just following the feeding table that your current nutes provide. If you think you need more PK then I'm sure you can increase the volume of base b you are using. These "shooting powders" are highly concentrate leaving very little room for error. at a glace the NPK rating is worrying yes plants dont need alot of nitrogen in the flower cycle but they do still need a fair amount this is why you use both a and b formulas with most nutrients. I can see this has a use maybe in the last week if you have a large plant any earlier than that I would think you would be in trouble. Though I could be wrong this is all just my experience. My ultimate advise would be save your cash and up you b feed. least with the feed tables you have some sort of guidance to go by :) best of luck for the grow and if you need any powdered nutrient recommendations hit me a pm it is much cheaper than playing the brand game and so much more control. in basics all companies claim to have the best formula to grow cannabis. if you think about it all you are paying for is the same chemicals in different proportions these being NPK why not have the exact chemicals and mix your own so you can make sure you are giving your ladies exactly what they need :)

I agree with BluntZilla, those numbers are INSANELY high and I would/could not recommend ANY product with those numbers. Something like 0-13-15 is all that is required and then only in small doses. Any decent/proper Cannabis "bloom" nutrient will have P and K in suitable quantities, so there is no need for extreme products like this. I usually give only 2 doses of PK booster, (an organic 0-13-11), one at half strength about two weeks after flowering begins then another, also at half strength, about mid way through or roughly 4 weeks before I expect them to finish. Using this sort of product many, many years ago thinking it would be a "sure thing" to get "super buds", I actually found all it really did was give the flowers an awful metallic taste, even after "flushing" for two weeks before harvest and vowed never to use those sort of products again. They may have a place in growing giant pumpkins not intended for human consumption, but as with most things in life, there ae no "free lunches" and bombarding your babies with over the top products lie this will not give you a short cut to super dope, or make up for other deficiencies or problems elsewhere through the grow cycle. Be afraid, very afraid of these "Frankenstein" products. I wouldn't even use them on my tomatoes !! Hope this helps,..... Organoman.

I use jacks nutrients 10/30/20 booster the first 2 weeks of flower for 2 feedings and no issues—- I also just got the floraflex “full tilt” system that also does a mega dose at bloom—- and all the big cannabis breeders have not had any problems with it either—- I guess it just depends on the substrate, photo Vs auto, etc—- give it a go! ✌️🏻💚🌿

This is insanely potent and only useable in very small amounts! I really don't recommend using it only if you have severe deficiencies! your plants need only a certain amounts of nutrients and giving more doesn't necessarily mean better. if you overfeed your plant with those nutrients it will eventually cause toxicities in the plant and reduce yield significantly. If you do use it then remove any other PK or "bloom" based fertilizer from the mix then only use it in about 30-50% of recommended dosage. I'd stick with the normal NPK fertilizers throughout the grow and only use additives like this when in severe deficiency. Good luck and happy growing :)

I used a booster and immediately they went toxic. After a lot of reading, I determined that it is unlikely for a booster to really do anything for you that a proper main nutrient diet won't. You definitely want to maximize P and K uptake, but no matter what you do she can still only absorb so much. If you experience some crazy deficiency, maybe add some booster for a quick fix.
