Unfortunately, at this late stage, there is very little that can be done to remove the mites, without leaving toxic residues in your flowers that no doubt you are looking forward to smoking. Buds + miticide = no smoking! As the flowers are nearly ready, the mites are only eating the sap from the leaves, which means you flowers should hardly be effected. If they build webs over your flowers, when you hang the flowers to dry, the mites seem to pack up their webs and disappear all together in some sort of mysterious vanishing act. If the damage does become dreadfully bad, harvesting a bit earlier than you would normally do, is about your only other option. You may even find harvesting a bit earlier than usual will give you a different type of high and really enjoy it. I have seen plants in late flower that were absolutely wrapped in "webs" by spider mites and while the leaves certainly looked badly effected, the actual flowers were quite fine with no loss apparent in the resin quality or quantity. Anyhow, the mainly effected parts of the plant, the leaves, are cut off anyway and as I said, resin quality is not noticeably effected in any way, however if you were to treat the plant with any sort of miticide/insecticide at this late stage, the cure could be worse than the problem. I certainly would not advocate smoking/ingesting any flowers that were treated with chemicals, natural or not, so close to harvest! Hope this helps,... Organoman.
