A lot of "stuff" is sold to growers that are totally unnecessary and is part of making money because they can.
Skimping on lights would be my biggest concern, you can't grow decent plants in poor light.
Otherwise, using a decent "grow" and decent "bloom" nutrients is all anyone REALLY needs.
A lot of products made by the same manufacturer will have two products that are essentially identical in formulation and differ only in name! This way they have two product lines and gullible growers will buy everything "just in case" their plants may be missing out on some magical ingredient that will turn great flowers into super dooper flowers. Have a look at some of the diaries at what nutrients people are using, and some will have lists of 10-12 different products that they are giving to one week old seedlings, then wonder why their seedlings are getting burnt or dying!
Examples of paranoia are root "boosters" and amino acids and fulvic/humic acids which will all do the same thing and bloom "boosters". One brand I am aware of sell a "P/K" flower booster and their bloom "enhancer" has the exact same recipe, yet people will use both due to slick marketing and never read the packet or manufacturers data sheets to find out if they should even open their wallets in the first place, a typical symptom of "Fear of Missing Out".
Hope this helps,..... Organoman.
