Leaves always droopy?

2x2growing
2x2growingstarted grow question 4 years ago
Is it normal for some strains to have droopy leaves? It seems like no matter the time of day or water schedule my leaves never quite perk up like they did on my last grow. The fan leaves on this particular plant are massive so maybe their weight won’t allow them to perk up??

To me she looks dehydrated. Are you sure she has been getting enough water? Are you watering to run off and the entire surface, from edge to edge is getting watered? If not, a plant that size would easily need 2-4 litres per watering. The size/weight of the leaves has nothing to do with it, I have had plants with leaves the size of dinner plates with foot long fingers hold up themselves without any problems. Try giving her 3-4 litres, say 500ml every half hour, over 3-4 hours and I would be very surprised if she did not pick up. The staggered watering allows for some water to be fully absorbed before the next dose is given, resulting in much more water being absorbed and not just running through the pot without being absorbed effectively. Spraying a dehydrated plant could cause issues, so I would advise against doing so until her leaves have perked up, if you are interested in foliar feeding. A seaweed extract/tonic, if you have some, will certainly help your plant pick up faster, but is not vital. Just give her a massive drink of plain (or with seaweed) water and she should pick up within 6 hours, which includes the 3-4 hours of staggered watering. Until she has picked up, I wouldn't give her any nutrients, as they will burn a dehydrated plant. You should aim for an evenly moist substrate, top to bottom and side to side, and not with dry patches or overly wet either, but since you are using fabric pots, over watering is almost impossible. The fact the leaves are "massive" means there will be a much higher level of transpiration and THIS particular plant will have far higher water requirements than most, so if you are only watering as much as you did with a previous plant with smaller leaves, this is obviously not enough for THIS plant. Each and every plant will have different water needs and this varies from strain to strain and even with plants of the same strain. Until you work out a "custom watering schedule" for THIS plant, giving her the same as previous plants will not work. Anyway, give her a good, deep and thorough watering and I am positive she will bounce back to full "leaf up mode". Hope this helps,.... Organoman.

Looks to me like they're struggling with excess heat. Is that a heater in there? It will dry out the leaves and suck out their moisture.

Try more aeration in soil ex perlite or growstone, and it's either too dry or it is too wet. Hard to tell without picking up planter for weight purposes. Beyond that looks prett healthy. Good job so far. Good luck and happy growing 🌲🌲🌲👊

Try to give them a diluted grow foliage spray and they will perk back up. I had the same problem a few days ago and today they were fully raised up towards the light. I used 1ml of iguana juice grow to 1 liter of water. At a ph of 6.4

Hi !
