It sounds like you're into it so we'll work with the soil you've got. I think the most important thing (if you can do it) is to not let the soil dry to cracking. I try to avoid overly wet and overly dry soil. If you can keep the dirt moist then the plant can work with it. When it dries and cracks that cracking can snap roots so it's not good for plant health and yield. Mulch might be helpful to help shade the soil from the sun and slow evaporation.
Shit soil. If you're still in veg stage you could transplant into some better quality soil with added perlite. Otherwise there's nothing you can do until the next time 🌱👍
You can't really aerate it after you've started growing, usually add perlite or clay pebbles to the soil before hand, don't let the soil go bone dry then you won't have this issue, find the sweet spot for watering mate
