been using 5-gallon with gamma seal too.. gotta put my vote for that one. Easy to automate burping with a pump, tubing, top-hat gasket and a couple check valves. even if you don't do that, burping 1 or 2 buckets instead of a shit tone of quart mason jars or even 1-gallon mason jars is heaven by comparison. From what i read this type of storage and similar won't lose much potency in 12-18 months but starts to speed up after that. Longer storage requirements should definitely invovle colder storage temps (and tighter packaging i guess would help too?) And, at all times should be kept dark, regardless of method... the jar you keep out for smoking that lasts a few days or a week before refilling it is not a concern, obviously... but over a longer period of time light is the primary enemy for potency. if it smokes fast, it doesn't really matter much :P

Anything that can be sealed. I find plastic takeaway containers are good. And they're free if you eat takeaway. (clean them 1st obvs) 😁🥃

I cure in 5 gallon bucket with a gamma seal and a large 62% boveda humidity pack. The seal is not as good as a jar, but the humidity pack keeps the correct moisture so it does not dry out. After 5 months cure I switch to a 49% pack for 1 week and then vacume seal and store in a dark cool place.

I'd still use mason jars but bigger ones like the Ball Wide Mouth Half Gallon Mason Jars.

I'm trying food-safe 5 gallon buckets with double sealed food storage lids. The kind that has a threaded lids and snaps onto the top of the bucket. It's working, slowly but surely. It seems to take twice as long to cure when compared to mason jars, but it's easy and can hold a lot of nugs. I suggest curing in some mason jars to hold you off until the bucket (s) are cured up.
