Does Liquide phenol red work to check the water PH?

Liquide Phenol red is the cheapest alternative ive got. It should range between 6 and 8. But it say s for uses at pools and hot tubs, should be more or less accurate and get the job done right? As i can easily see diferences between 6.0 and 7.0? Thank you! :D

If it works, it works. But you can pick up a ph meter quite cheap off Amazon. Similar shopping platforms are available...lol
