Not so fat banana?

These are pics of an RQS fat banana automatic 6.5 weeks in. I feel it’s a bit scrawny at 50cms. Also, her leaves are really yellowing up. So are the 4 other fat bananas. Is she unhealthy? Today I just fed filtered water even though I have been using half dosage of organic nutes

Correct, defoliation is not really a good idea, your plant needs as many healthy leaves as possible to make the energy she needs to grow her biggest and best flowers. In reality, only yellow leaves should be removed, for by the time they are yellow, they have served their purpose. The older leaves also provide a ready source of amino acids, carbs, sugars etc that she will draw upon during flowering, as it is far more efficient to do so than to make them from new during flowering. So, not only does defoliation reduce your plants capacity to produce energy, it also robs her of a ready source of vital growth elements that she needs during flowering. Just remember, maximum healthy leaves = maximum energy production = maximum growth and fastest too. At this stage of flower development she is pretty hungry and upping the nutrients will boost growth. Adding some fulvic or humic acid will also benefit your plants greatly and organic too. Adding some organic P/K booster at this stage will also benefit flower growth positively. Autos can be scrawny in general and I am not a fan, much preferring "normal" photoperiod plants with their better genetic stability and much greater yield. Hope this helps,......... Organoman.

Hey mate ;i only checked 6th week and found 2 solutions. First of all ; she looks really well at 6 weeks and congrats ;she is going to give some decent yields. Now back to flower game; the organic nutes you use ; may show results a little late. Also you need to up the nutes as you mentioned falling of leaves and defoliating some. I would suggest never deofliate an auto and never defoliate in general ;those are your plants solar panels and she wont grow any more of them. The bud quality is definetily better with all leaves left on plant and let them fall of naturally. This is the way plants have evolved in nature and is the best way possible. Also keep doing the res ; ;whatever you are with just a little bit more of k and p nutes in your feeding regime. She is definetily going to be fat one by the end of 12th week!! Hope this helps..
