So if im using a 5 gal grow bucket, How long can I leave it in veg.? I assume the roots would eventually take up all the soil and at some point it would be retroactive. If I left in veg long enough that the roots take over all sub. than switch to flower, would it not flower fully?

Cloth pots air prune so you can actually keep plants in them for a lot longer then you would think. For mothers though I do tend to use 7 gallon pots instead and rotate out the mother for a clone or new seed every 8 months to a year.

You are correct, they recommend a 3-5 gallon container for most autos and this is also sufficient for a 4-8 week veg time on a photo, when flowering, root growth slows down considerably also depends on your grow spaces height, how long you would keep in veg.
