Veg lighting approach? Switching from cfl to hps?

I started my second grow a couple weeks ago with a 130w cfl in my 1m veg cupboard. I’m thinking I will make the switch to a 250w hps soon. I don’t want to overheat the space. Do you think this is a good strategy? I’ll flower the autos in my 1.4m tent with 600w hps.

A 250 HPS in a 1 square metre space could cause heat issues, so, be alert, but not alarmed! Starting with a 130 CFL for seedlings/cuttings, then going to a 400 HID for veg and a 600 HID for flowering would really boost your results and is almost an ideal situation. Just watch temps and keep your plants well hydrated and all will be well! Hope this helps,.......... Organoman.

Ah yes, CFL to 250HPS to 600HPS is a perfect plan : here's an idea : keep the CFL for a propagator area : do all the seedlings there then move to veg then move to flower. You dont actually need a tent just a few propagators. This will give the plants the perfect spectrum and intensity for each stage. Very pro. Hope this helps ! 🚀

Sounds like a good plan but I would probably wait for the 250w HPS until like the second week of veg just to make sure you don't overheat the space, then just work your way up.
