No plant can grow effectively without a natural grow/sleep/grow/sleep cycle. 18/6 has been proven as the optimum cycle for all cannabis, autos and photoperiod plants in vegetative growth. 24/0 just creates imbalanced and exhausted plants. Exhausted plants can not produce prime quality flowers or be in peak health. Sleep deprivation is a well known torture technique. It drives people nuts. Plants deprived of "sleep" will no doubt be going nuts while waiting for some well overdue "sleep". I like to think of the 6 hours of "sleep" as - 2 hours to recover from the day, 2 hours to rest and 2 hours to prepare for the day ahead, and this is basically what occurs during a plants sleepy time. 24/0 would only be recommended by people who don't care about their (or your) plants or people who have no understanding of how plants grow or function, perhaps a bit of both. Your plant will grow more and produce more too at 18/6 than it will at 24/0. You will not lose yield, potency or anything by going to 18/6, in fact, EVERYTHING will be better once your plant gets what it needs in a grow/sleep normal and natural cycle, just like it has been getting for Millenia. If you look through this question page often enough, yo will come across questions and pictures from people who have tried growing and flowering for weeks of continuous light and it ain't pretty! Horrible stressed out and deformed plants. The people in question only ever try it once. Nuff said! Hope this helps,.......... Organoman.

plants dedicate their nighttime hours to metabolizing the energy they've absorbed. By the next morning, 95% of their starch reserves are converted into sugar, providing nutrition to the plant and enabling it to grow. So I'm going to say that's false. More than likely just a different phenotype.
