I just wish everybody could do these three simple things!
No need to chop her down, just keep an eye out for any further bananas and remove them as you find them.
As long as you get them early, they will not release any pollen yet and you should not have any issues with seeds. It takes a few days for the bananas to ripen and produce viable pollen, so as long as you get them early and don't miss any, your plant should flower more or less normally. In the odd chance that she starts making hundreds of bananas, then you have little option other than to remove it or chop it down.
