Whatever you do, do not put a layer of pure perlite at the bottom, this is where the roots will go and they need nutrition, not sterile perlite.
I would suggest a recipe containing no more than 5% of perlite by total volume as maximum.
My own soil mix would be roughly 30 litres potting soil, 8 litres worm castings, 2 litres perlite, half a cup bone meal, 2 litres coir, 10 litres compost, 5 litres aged chicken manure, 2 litres kelp meal, 1 litre coarse sand and an addition of trace elements, volcanic rock dust and some mycorrhizae soil fungus as a starting point for a mix. I have refined this basic recipe over the last 30 odd years and as a starting point, I can recommend this mix as entirely suitable for this beautiful plant.
Hope this may help,..........
