Nutrient lockout? [first grow]

KisukeUrahara

My plant’s started showing signs of nutrient burn, so I have flushed them with just water, after 1 day they turned to worse condition than before. Is it nutrient lockout? Or just deficient? Appreciate every feedback!

Sorry I was out in the sun couldn't see properly! I've had a better look. The bottom (older) leaves do look totally dead from what I can see. As for PH water in soil 6.4 is within the perfect range. As for the flush drooping, that should only last a few hours. The they should pick up. If it's been longer than that it's due to the frequency of watering. How long was it since you watered before the flush? I agree with the drop though, definitely due to watering. Personally I think they are hungry but I'd need the runoff PH and ppm/EC to say for sure and the ppm/EC of the feed. I agree with bio, its definitely a mag/magn issue but could also have others as well.

I don't mean it should always be wet, but reasonable watering without flushing and excessively dry cycles.

I've seen numerous guys being told they should flush their plants and most of the time their plants end up worse. Imo, much better to just actually stabilize the medium and nutrient levels, and with gradual sort of changes (unless it is very severe issues). In your case, your plant probably needs a shitload of varying nutrients now. I would be giving it some general feed (though fairly low levels, and gradually, consistently and hopefully it recovers somewhat). Shit like molasses for some general elements, calcium, epsom salts, 1-3-2 NPK. and potentially something specifically for microelements along with watering it regularly, though never really soaking it.

@InspireMe i water every second day, i should water today, 300ml per plant, they sit in 5.7l pots. I’ll definetily get Cal/Mag tomorrow, and measure the runoff ph!

I would let the soil dry out before next water and I would use bloom nutrients and calmag at half your normal dose at next feed. Then feed after that just water then go back to just shy of your full strength. You want to get runoff and you want to make sure the soil has dried a bit between watering. Hope you solve it.

If they would be hungry, the lowest leaves would be more affected imo...

What you have now is symptoms of overwatering after the flush, the drooping leaves point to that. Also the new growth seems more affected than old growth. You plant shows different deficiencies mostly looking like magnesium and manganese deficiency but still traces of nitrogen burn which makes it harder to see, which is probably more of either nutrient lock out of some sort or a PH problem , that 'just water' you used to flush? Did you PH that to around 6? That could be it.

They look hungry to me. Check your runoff PH and ppm for extra clarity. Hope this helps 🙂
