Don't do it!
Your plant needs every leaf it has to make the energy it needs to grow her biggest and bestest flowers.
Just remember -
Maximum amount of healthy green leaves = maximum energy production = maximum growth.
If your plant did not need those leaves, it would not have grown them in the first place!!
I never remove any green leaves, only yellow ones. In 35+ years of growing, I am yet to see a plant that gets rid of perfectly healthy, green, energy producing leaves for no reason or benefit. Just try and tuck them out of the way of emerging growth if you are really worried, but it is not necessary. Light we humans can not see, will pass through upper leaves and strike lower leaves and stimulate photosynthesis. Besides, those "potential bud sites" are relying on those big fan leaves to make the energy they need to grow. It is as if each branch has a fan leaf that is a bit like its own personal "power station" to provide energy for that branch to grow. Removing that "power station" means there is less energy, which means growth will be slower and potentially smaller too. So, I say "leave the leaves", they are an important and integral part of the plants entire metabolism and life force.
Some well considered light "lollipopping about half way through veg and a general tidying up at the beginning of flowering will reduce the amount of small inner flowers you will have to deal with at harvest, but it is not essential. Often leaving the plant to do its own thing is the best idea. After all, it has been doing exactly this for Millenia and without any human involvement, quite successfully.
Hope this helps,...........
