How much light stress can a plant take? I had a blackout for about an hour this week and now I'm worried that my girl will hermie on me. Should I be worried or does it take a lot more stress to turn a girl into a hermie?

hi mate all is well it takes a lot more than that to turn your plant hermie What you dont want however is light leaking in when the lights are supposed to be off Your plants need to be in complete darkness for no less than 12 hours a day for photoperiod plants 👍

strange thing about plants is that light causes stress, but no light that means less stress (up to a point) so it will actually have endured less stress , not more. that's because the plant doesnt have that much time to fall asleep completely and wake up again completely (also stressful events for these plants lol) . Keep an eye on your babies, but dont lose sleep over this, for prolongue periods, or sometimes if this happens in the future, maintain the light schedule with any kind of other lamp if you can use your main lamps. Anyway hope this helps ! 🚀

Plants go hermie due genetics, bad luck and light leaks during lights out period, not the other way around. Don't worry

Hi @MrMunchies, rest assured your worries are not unfounded, but cannabis is incredibly resilient. It's going to take a lot more than a hour of blackout for your girl to become a hermie! Keep doing what you're doing and you'll be right as rain!
