Any way to prevent bud rot apart from dropping RH?...

Any way to prevent bud rot apart from dropping RH? 6 weeks into flower and RH lights off has been 80-90% for 12h every day. Is there a possibility that my whole crop has already been infected? Got a dehumidifier, but I'm worried that i'm too late. Thoughts?😰

Even if you have high humidity, that doesn't mean you have bud rot; remember that it is a type of fungus and if your plants have not come in contact with the spores, then there's no infection. My lights off period when on 12/12 usually have high humidity like yours, but haven't had bud rot so far. There's quite a few things that you can do, prevention wise: 1- Increase air circulation. 2-Defoliate: prevent those bunch of leaves one on top of each other, besides with less foliage: less transpiration, so less humidity. 3- water less: humidity rises because plant transpire most of the water they drink, so if you restrict the water, the humidity will lower.

If you can get rh as low as possible then sort of try to spread your colas apart and have air blowing on and around them non stop, even dark hours. Keep and eye out for an entire bud to turn brownish black or just looking way odd from the others and remove immediately before it can touch the others. A friend who grows on a massive closed loop system said bud rot was hard to catch as long as you have a very good ventilation and air flow going. If you can keep it at 75 or lower and keep air flow up, it may be ok. Also maybe beware of watering times as the more water in the soil, the more moisture in the air. My RH always spikes when I do a good soak. Best of luck looks great.

You’re definitely more at risk from getting bud rot with humidities like that, you’re asking for it if you ask me. Get some good circulation going , especially at night.. keep a fan blowing mildly when lights are off as well as on. Second, use an extractor to get rid of the hot moist air (your carbon filter should do this job if you leave it on over night as I do. Otherwise you’ll wake up to a damp/ wet grow garden. Your whole crop gets infested with Mold that will be a waste of time and effort. Those are the main things. You can defoliate your plants but that alone won’t prevent bud rot and high humidity. Even the most Mold resistant trains can still get bud rot so pay close attention to your grow space. Hope this helps, any questions.. drop me a message.

You just need to pH your solution between 7.5 - 8.0 . Mold is a fungus, it’s a kind mushroom parasite who lives on his host, but it can’t live on a basic host. Switching from a acidic to basic isn’t a problem as you are almost done, plants won’t mind the fluctuation.
