For long term seed storage, use a glass jar the can he seal ( air tight lid ) and put the seeds inside the jar. Seal the jar and place it in the refrigerator. You can have seeds last up to 10 years this way. You can also store them in a cool room that doesn't get much heat or light but the shelf life goes to 5 years.
That is just the general idea according to seed banks. I've seen seeds stores in poor conditions that will still germinate.
For short term I store seeds in an airtight container in the refrigerator. For long term storage I keep them in the chest freezer (does not have a defrost cycle). My oldest seeds are a couple years old and still germinate well.
Put them in a ziplock bag and stick them in the freezer. Ive stored seeds that had perfect germination after 5 years. When ready to use take them out and let them get to room temperature then throw in water or paper towel.
