Can I use 400w some days and 600w others?

Would my plants suffer any issues if they were under 400w some days and 600w other days, MH/HPS bulbs. On a warm day 600w makes my little tent too warm but want to take advantage of colder days if possible. Digital balast so just gotta twist a knob so no fuss to do either.

you can do that
Outside there are clouds that do what you want to do artificially
But what temperatures do you have? I had plants in midsummer surviving over 33° in my tent with easy for serveral weeks

Assuming it’s just veg? With metal halide?
I would just keep it at 400 if is Veg—- flower if you can go 600, do it. Should be fine if absolutely necessary with temps. This summer has been a bear for indoor growers! Good luck ✌️🏻💚🌿💨

Is this ready??? autoflowerWeek 15 almost 16, it smells very strong and the leaves are dying
trichomes are all milky cloudy, but no sign of amber trichomes, flowers are too heavy and stems can't support the weight
It's been almost a month since it smelled very strong

Humidity spike?Hi there,
I'm having weird issues with my humidity, it seems to be fine (40-50%) for 70% of the day, but the remaining 30% of the day it spikes up to 60-65%.
Temps stay reasonable in the 5x5 tent, I have ducted air-con in the house which is on most of the day.

Upside down leaf growth?What is happening to this plant, it seems to be growing leaves upside down? It had nothing come out for a few days and then 2 new leaves started to grow out of it but it's like the top dark green side of the leaf is growing on the underside. Any ideas on what I should research?

Erratic light cycles for the first weekAny experience with keeping a seedling in 12/12 to begin with, then switching over to 18/6 after the first week? Canopy VS plant base temp general comments or suggestionsThe canopy is a warm at 30c but at the base of the plant it's around 24c. I haven't seen any issues yet (the claw is weird genetics - unchanged) any idea on yeild impact? I can lower it but it will lower the humidity to ~30%. Night temp 18c.
