Just want to see what other people think on this topic. What is the best way to PH your compost tea. Do you PH before your add everything and brew for 24 hours or do you PH your tea after it is done brewing? Alot of debate on this topic.

PPM was 650-700 so that was spot on for what I want to do. And if I am top dressing I still use 2 tea during there life cycle. I try to give them a tea towards the middle to end of veg/ start of flower, and then middle of flower right after the last top dress. So both my teas come right after I top dress. My theory being is that when I have to top dress the medium (which I usually wait about 30 days to do the first top dress and then 21 days for the second top dress) at that point the medium is pretty deplenished of nutrients since the microbes and plants have been feeding on them for the last 21-30 days ( Depending which top dress). So when I top dress it is going to take atleast a week until any of those nutrients are available for uptake to the plants. SOOOO...if I give them a tea right after top dressing, those nutrients are already available for uptake which will get them through the period of time that the nutrients are being broken down that you top dressed. That way you keep the plant fed even between feeds.

well what do you do in the case that your tea is 4.5 after brewing. Just checked my ph before I was about to apply and it is 4.5. Only thing I can think to do is dilute

When you are brewing your tea you’re blowing oxygen thru your tea and tis will always raise the ph a bit because of the oxidation proces

Yes I do that when I don't want ppm so high usually in the first few weeks of flower I dilute it with water of 6.5 but i don't ever check the pH of the actual tea because adding PH to your teas harm the microbes that are already living in the tea. First 3 weeks of flower should be around 1000 -1100 ppm and then I up the PPM by 100 each week. I usually only do compost teas if I am not dry amendmending. Learned this the hard way as my ppm shot through the roof and gave my plants some toxicitys while dry amending and feeding compost teas in the past ..

The only real solution I can think of is ph ing your water before hand with the buffer solution to a low enough ph that when everything is added, will hover around 6.5. That way your not adding it in while the microbes are all doing there thing in there. I really want to find a study to see if ph up and down actually kill off microbes or not.

so you don't believe ph ing it after is killing off microbes? And I know they say they control the ph of it once you apply. I have dolomite lime in my soil so that helps ph of soil but if the plant is taking in that tea as quick as I believe it is, I feel like that won't give the soil or microbes time to balance out the ph of the solution meanin the plant is taking in a solution that is not in range for it to be able to take in the nutrients from it making it useless. But at the same time, if the ph buffer is killing off the microbes in the tea if you ph it after brewing, that also defeats the purpose of the tea.

I don't use any PH down or up no matter what the pH is as the microbes control the pH fluctuation after application. Just don't use any dolomite lime in your teas and you'll be good. This is what I do with good success

Just asking because I PH my compost teas before hand at 6.3-6.5 and after adding everything and brewing it ends up at about 7.4-7.5. Now according to what everyone says, that is not in the correct range for plants to uptake the nutrients, but people also say it is not good to add ph down to your microbes in the tea.
