GrowCNanswered grow question 3 years ago Pick a compressor style dehumidifier. I would get a smaller one so it spends more time running with fewer on/off cycles. Some models include a pump. They are great because they can pump water uphill and for a reasonable distance so you can run the drain hose out of the room, through a window or up into a sink. Or, you can buy a dehumidifier and also get a air conditioner condensate pump. They have a small tank, float switch and pump. You can run your dehumidifier drain into the condensate drain and let it pump the water out of the room.
There isn't much difference in quality between consumer grade dehumidifiers. Friedrich might be better than many other brands. Still, I would not be surprised if you only get a few years use before it's time for a replacement.
