Heh I tried this in the veg garden - dont use a liquid based silica as it can make you pH sky rocket, you need an incredibly tiny amount for your microbes (literally like 0.04) you are better off using a high silica from plant naterial like horsetails (they are very high in silica) - about 250g horsetails (equisetum plant) boiled to about 5L water is generally safe as a foliar spray for garden plants but for weeds I would say half that amount and be more conservative. You could even use that as a base for an aerated tea, once the horsetail tea has cooled stick say a cup of worm casting in there and maybe 0.5-1tbsp molasses, some beneficial microbes, bubble for 24-36hrs and you should have a handsome tea on your hands. I suggest diluting the tea when feeding to your girls and keep bubbling so you can keep it fresh and use a couple of times on the weeds if necessary or pour it on all your garden plants for a good boost.
