I like simple.,.. and if you pay attention to ingredients listed, you'll see it's the same stuff used all over -- with some options, obviously.
Mainly, whether you go with soil or hydro/soilless will be biggest determining factor for which nutrient line you should go with.
i don't like overpaying. Even with recent upticks in costs to JR Peter's jack's nutrients part A, it's still 1/2 to 1/4th the cost of even a seemingly well-priced product. Based on previous purchase price, i'm going to get 3.5-4 years for teh cost of 0 or /year. Had i waited for a slae, it'd be , lol. So, even if the new price is clsoer to , now, for Part A and some generic calcium nitrate (-40 for 25lbs. So, 0-120 with uptick... or about /year)
compare labels you'll see the same 'stuff' is used. You aren't paying for water weight, which saves money as well as shelf-life.. decades.. (liquid is generally 10-12 years, so really shouldn't have an issue there either)
Ammonium nitrate has not tier in quality.. chemical compoisition doesn't improve by paying more, lol. "Pot" brands are mostly products bloated with excess profit margin and stuff that already existed on teh market for decades, just without a pot leaf logo on it, bwahaha.
i've used jack's in FF Ocean Forest before too with no problems. Definitely have to let the plant leech fro the hot soil before giving a full dose... no different than any other fertilization of soil.
the other good sign is that their instructions don't tell you to use 4x more than you should. A good formula should be near 750ppm / 1.5EC (.5 scale). Unprofessional products tell you to torch your plants for no reason other than to get you to buy more...
or, they purposely break up what should be 2-3 products into many more... 2-parts is comon because high Ca levels can cause a precipitate. Also, why you see it omitted from the shitty companies form their primary formula.. you have to buy an extra "cal" product for no fuckin reason, lol.
Keep it simple.. go with manufacturers with greater integrity. reward the better products out there. Don't buy the stupid shit marketed like sugary cereals to kids with cartoon graphics.
