Dry or wet trimming?

MaryJanee734

It’s getting near the end of harvest for my girls and I’m actually sad to see these babies go lol. But I was wondering if it’s better to dry trim or wet trim? I’ve heard go things about both, I just want to see which would be the better option.

please whole plant hung.. 60% fahrenheit and 60 degrees humidity. For 10-14 days and then trim after... Best smoke and terpene profile ... It's proven this method is the best to dry

It depends on how your going to be drying your buds. I like to lean more towards a wet trim as the buds look nicer. The bad part of that is they dry out faster. You want a slow dry and then bring the drying to a crawl for curing. Wet Trim -Have a dry tent or room you can control the temp/humidity -Drying in a shed or garage and the temperatures are low and/or humidity is high. Dry Trim -Have a dry tent or room but cant control the humidity and humidity is below 55% -Drying in a shed or garage and the temperatures are high and/or humidity is low You only want to hand your buds till the stem is stiff or snaps. If you bend it and it breaks off then you dried to much. Its better to get your buds in jars to soon and have to pull them out again then to over dry them. 60-65% humidity in the jars is ideal. If your dry them out to much and the buds in a sealed jar never get above 55% they have basically stopped curing.

Personally I wet trim. I find there is less green taste if you remove the leaves first and allows the bud to dry in 4 to 5 days before throwing them into jars and burping for a week or 2. This is the most important part of your drying. The weed will start to rehydrate in the jars, so allow enough time each burp to let the moisture out. If you fail here, your weed will smell like hay. Cheers

Wet trim lets you dry quicker as there is less plant material to dry out. Dry trim generally better for bud appearance. If you do a nice tight wet trim you may not need to manicure them when dry. It's all preference. If your conditions allow it, try both styles and see what you prefer (plus it means you wont have to trim everything at the same time).

Personally I prefer to cut the whole plant and slow dry over 10 days. Low and slow is the goal then trim after. Wet trim can get some killer bag appeal but it’s a pain in the A$$. Plus you can really mess with trics more when wet trimming.

Take off the big fan leaves before hanging and dry trim sugar leaves. The scissors don’t get as gummed up like wet trimming. But you ask 50 different growers you’ll get 100 different answers 🤣. Really all about preference. Congrats on the grow. Happy harvest.
