Light strips

Opinions on led strips down the poles of my tent for extra light or saving up for an upgrade.... I've been talking to a fellow grower and I know I need more light in order to have a better yield. I thought 4 light strips would give light from each side plus on top. Whatcha think?

Providing side light will also promote under growth making for lots of small airy buds. It's easier to trim bottom of plants out so all energy goes to canopy buds. So having lights on side is not always a bonus. I have some In my rooms thinking same as you in beginning. I only use them now when I clean the rooms to see. Would put resources into bigger light or second light vs side strips. Good luck

My next grow will be Royal Dwarf seeds by True North Seedbank. They are short and autos. My current are medium/tall height Candy Haze by Crop King Seeds.

What's everyone's favorite LED light? My tent is only 16"×16"×48" so I need something small enough to fit and not overcook my babies. But it needs enough strength through veg and flower to produce good yields. I just upgraded my desktop fans to an AC Infinity exhaust with thermostat and humidistat control. So, heat and humidity wont be an issue. But my other downside is a bought seeds that get to 48"-60" and a 48" tent. I will be using lst and SOG technique to keep the plants as short as possible but the light needs to be 18" away. My original thought was buying the small light I got due to size and light burn fears. Its my first indoor grow and Im on a tight budget. Any suggestions would be awesome.

I’d agree with Roberts. I tried side lights and found that it didn’t really make a massive difference though it was a bit useful to have adjustable lights (not strips down the side). I think you would be better off upgrading your main light or getting a second. But if you’re only growing one plant at a time, side lights might work too. Good luck!

Hello it is a good idea because more you bring light more yield you will have. It is smart too to put some strips on each side of your tent. Like this the light will go where a light in the air can't go. More it will bring a better penetration. Your plant will be happy like this and secondary. And lower branches will increase more. Hope it helps you. Bye
