GrowCNanswered grow question 3 years ago In N. America where marijuana is legal the terms sativa & indica are meaning less and less. Many brands and stores list the specific terpenes and their ratio to determine the affect a strain might have. Almost all still label their products sativa, indica or hybrid but that definition means a lot less than it did a few years ago.
When it comes to growing I think the sativa vs indica naming is more helpful. If you get a 100% sativa strain you need to prepare for a different sized plant than a hybrid or indica. I think most home growers do not grow pure sativa's indoors, or not many do because of their height. And with so many wonderful hybrids and new strains you can get something with the same affect that can fit inside a average grow tent.
What I personally like: Right now I'm on a landrace kick. I am trying every old school landrace strain I can find. These are the older, less hybridized strains from which many modern strains evolved. Some of my recent likes are Durban Poison and Acapulco Gold and I am currently in search of Maui Wowie. So much weed... so little time...
