I used to grow auto's in 3 gallon (11 liter) pots. I get bigger yields with 5 gallon (19 liter) pots. I have grown auto's in 3, 5 and 10 gallon (38 liter) size pots. 5 seems to be the best size. 3 gallon is too small. The plants were smaller and the yield less. 5 gallon is about perfect. At the end of a grow the roots completely fill every bit of the pot so no soil is wasted and yields are good. With 10 gallon size many roots do go to all corners of the pot but not fully dense with roots so I think it is a waste of soil and the yield is about the same as 5 gallon pots.

3-5 gallon pots are perfect for autos. 7 gallon pots just seem a little extreme for a plant that only grows so far. Move to a smaller pot and you may be able to control her growth better. Good luck with your grows

I'm growing my autos in 3 gallon fabric pots and they seem to be doing fine although, to be honest, I think I'm going to try a 5-gallon next time since I can tell the pots are simply crammed with roots and they'd probably be happier with a bit more room. From what I know of autos (admittedly I'm no expert!), they don't react well to transplanting so pick your size and stick with it. My babies are germinated right in their 3-gallon pots and never, ever transplanted (made that fatal mistake with a couple of seeds and had to toss them). Reading what @rororose had to say about the height to expect, my grow (which I'm going to be harvesting around Christmas when they're 10 weeks old) are all about 21.5" which is just perfect for my tent - so I'm going to go re-think using a 5-gallon... don't know if I'd have the head room for larger plants! Good luck with your grow!

Just generally speaking - I’d say go 5 gallon. I don’t see much of an argument for 3 gallon ones frankly. 5 gallons are pretty much perfect in my experience for indoor autos - assuming you’re in soil. Soilless substrates, you could go smaller and be fine.

Depends on many things to be honest. How much space you have and what you hope to get. I don’t think you could go wrong with either size as long as your grow room can support it and you know what you want from it. Why not try both and see what you prefer ☺️

Hey Buddy! How many plants are you going to be putting together in your space? If it’s 1 plant then the size is all up to you! Depends How big you want your plant to grow. If you’re going to have a super long vegetative stage then that means a larger plant, which also means larger roots! You will need a lot of drainage holes and you should have a bigger pot, the 7 gallon would be perfect. But if you were only doing say 4 to 5 weeks veg time then the other 2 pot sizes will be perfectly fine too! They say 5 gallons of plant container space for every 12 inches of growth. So if you’re growing cannabis in 3 gallon pots, you should flower or transplant when it’s about 2 feet tall. But remember transplanting can cause a lot of stress for your plant so it’s best to grow in the pot you’ll end up harvesting in
