Yeah I mean light outdoor doesn’t just give 12 hours of light all thru bloom - it slowly loses a few minutes every day.. so it’s mimicking natural conditions. I believe some varieties just are stubborn and done ripen like they should without doing this. It’s a sure way to make sure your flowers ripen I suppose

There is some logic to it... I thought about this myself in the last couple of weeks of flower. Did ask a question about it...They only way it can be beneficial is with sativas. It would simulate late flowering stage outdoors when the light is fading. As sativas take a little longer outdoors, its logical to think they get less light at the end than an indica would. I wouldn't say it is best practice but a good way to force flowering from a difficult plant or simulate natural effects. I hope this clarifies it for you
