I’ve got hermies!?!

It’s the 3rd week of flower and I’ve seen multiple pollen sacks on both plants. They are the only two plants in the tent and this is personal smoke. Being 70 days in do I remove the sacs hope for the best or chop and start over? The seeds were bag seeds from the dispensary.

If you have no other plants to worry and don't mind some beans poping in the spliff while you smoke - keep on. You are at 60-70% of all work done stage, I had not once harvest from hermied plant,it's still weed, it's still strong and smokable, but if you have other plants or are picky, you can chop them and start again, otherwise all garden will be polinated however precise with picking male flowers you would be. I would finish. All the best !

I did some major pruning last night, from what I can tell they haven’t been pollinated yet. The brachts are not swollen and the white hairs are all white, no amber color at the tips. All of the pollen sacs were immature and closed so I am hoping for the best but prepared for the worst. I run 90% of my flower through a grinder before I smoke so picking out the beans isn’t the end of the world. I have also updated the title of my Mag Landrace journal to reflect that it’s a hermie. Thanks everyone for the advice and will keep everyone posted!!

When you grow with bag seed your running a big risk of hermi's. this is because they where pollinated in an unknown manner and chances are they where pollinated by a stress female also growing balls or throwing nanners. thus the next generation "the seed you grew" will be more prone to do this as it thinks this is normal for any amount of stress. This is not to say its the only way it can happen. maybe a true male was in the room or somewhere outside and accidentally pollinated this one. but main takeaway here. don't grow out bag seed and expect good things. only expect failure and hermi's then you'll be truly impressed when one does work out.

I believe that they hermied due to genetics. Temp and RH have been dialed in the entire grow and they haven’t really been through any major stress. This strain (Mag Landrace by Verano) is known to come with seeds. I’ve had 1/8’s with half a dozen seeds or more. I’m going to go through each plant tonight (when the lights come back on) and remove all the sacs I can find and hope for the best. Like JBobz recommended I will be spraying the entire grow environment down with bleach after harvest.

Yup annnnd that’s the risk you run with bag seed. You don’t know where the pollen is from.. if it’s from the plant itself, it herm’d from stress or genetics. If genetics - it’s gonna keep passing it down to the next generation thru seed

Hi mate im sorry that you have to deal with it, but yeah you can try to remove the sacs very very closely if you don't want to start again and pray that they don't show up again, anyway you now need to clean the whole box, lamps, FANS everything or it will affect all your cicle, present and future! hope everythig go for the best, good luck mate!
